Under a state of emergency enforced continuously for 30 years, Egyptian authorities can arrest anyone they choose on the mere suspicion that they might be a threat to public order and security. Amnesty International is calling on the authorities to lift the state of emergency, repeal emergency legislation and end the corrosive system of administrative detention.
