Amnesty International UK & PRCBC Public Bill Submission on Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill.

This joint submission identifies and addresses two aspects of the Bill that relate to rights to British citizenship.

The first is the repeal, which Amnesty and PRCBC support, of certain provisions of the Illegal Migration Act 2023.

The second concerns deportation powers, to which Clause 41 (Bill 173) relate. On this, the joint submission includes an amendment to secure people with rights to British citizenship against automatic deportation powers.
