Events
Silent Vigil
We plan to continue with our weekly Silent Vigil for the People of Palestine which takes place each Friday 5-6pm in St. Peter's Square, Manchester. There will be many other events and actions over the course of the year. The best way to find out about them is to join our mailing list.
Stand up for Gaza comedy night
29th April. Raising urgently needed funds for Gazan familes.
When we meet
The group meets on the second Monday of each month.
These meetings alternate between in-person meetings, in the Third Floor Meeting Room of Manchester Central Library, 6.00-7.30pm, and online meetings which are from 7.00-8.30pm.
All members of our group receive an email telling them of the content of forthcoming meetings, whether it is in person or online, and a zoom link is mailed to all members on the morning of the online meetings. The meetings are also advertised on our web-page and on Facebook.
Subgroups meet as and when needed, usually online.

We do not currently have a formal Chair of the group, but make decisions via a small committee of co-ordinators. The coordinators group consists of the people mentioned above plus those activists who lead our various campaigns, in some cases leading a small sub-group.
Our campaign work
A highlight of our recent campaigining has been our Weekly Silent Vigil for the People of Palestine. It is well attended and well-received by the public. We have a large Israel/Palestine group who campaign against Israeli apartheid and genocide
We are also active in the areas of Anti-Racism (particularly fighting against joint enterprise); scrap Prevent campaign; UAE - free Ahmed Mansoor and Mohamed al-Roken; we have recently formed a link with Manchester4Sudan; we have an active refugee rights campaing group which has been working with Together with Refugees; we have an LGBTQ+ coordinator and attended several Pride events last year; we hold bi-monthly appeal writing sessions in Manchester Central Library and run several Write for Rights sessions each year in various settings; several of our members are members of the Human Rights in the UK collective and we regularly take actions on issues such as protest rights; until he was released, we had an active Free Assange campaign.
