Despite a so-called ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza, Israel’s racist system of apartheid and illegal occupation continues, with settlements expanding and state-backed violence increasing against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
On 9 July, there will be a debate in Westminster on ending UK trade with Israeli settlements in the illegally Occupied Palestinian Territory.
This debate is a huge opportunity to put pressure on the UK government to finally end all trade with Israeli settlements. But we need your help to make this happen.

Settlements in the West Bank are a key pillar of Israeli apartheid and Israel is expanding them faster than ever. Israeli organisation Peace Now reports that the current Israeli government has approved 102 settlements since it came into office, an increase of 80% in just three years. [1]
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice issued an opinion stating that these settlements and the occupation of Palestinian land are illegal and must end. The court then ordered other countries to halt any assistance to Israel that could help it maintain the occupation, including trade with Israeli settlements.
However, states are failing to apply international law designed to hold perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity to account and prevent future violations. World leaders are failing to stop Israel’s flagrant human rights abuses.
The UK Government is no exception.
Despite record levels of settlement expansion and state-backed settler violence, the UK has done nothing effective to stop Israel from establishing and expanding its illegal settlements in the West Bank. In fact, the UK still imports goods from these settlements – legitimising the Israeli state’s war crimes.
The UK has stopped trading with other illegally occupied territories like Crimea and other parts of occupied territory in Ukraine. It needs to take the same step here.
