Overview

This International Women’s Day, join Amnesty Feminists (Amnesty International UK) for an energising, practical, and community-driven afternoon of feminist organising.

Our Activism in Action event is designed for aspiring campaigners, first-time activists and anyone with an idea for gender equality who wants support bringing it to life. Whether you’ve never campaigned before or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, this event will give you the tools, confidence, and network to take meaningful action.

This year, we’re focusing on bodily autonomy and gender equality campaigning, equipping you with real strategies to create impact.

Session 1: This is what feminist activism looks like

You already care. Now let's turn that into action - because the world we want to see is built by people exactly like you.

We'll cover:

  • Everyday acts of resistance and why they add up to real change
  • How to use your voice, your network and your everyday spaces to take action
  • Practical tools to mobilise others and keep momentum going

There will be opportunities to directly join and take action within Amnesty Feminists’ My Body My Rights campaign.

Session 2: Panel Discussion: How can we engage men and boys in feminist activism?

This honest, open panel brings together people working on the frontline of this question every day.

We'll explore:

  • What real allyship looks like in practice
  • What's stopping men showing up?
  • How do we shift culture, not just conversations?

Audience Q&A included.

Session 3: Campaigning Development Workshop

This is where ideas become action plans.

Whether you want to join the My Body My Rights campaign or build a campaign of your own, this hands-on workshop gives you the space, tools and feedback to make it real.

Participants will:

  • Develop or refine their own campaign ideas or our My Body My Rights campaign
  • Work through structured campaign workbooks
  • Explore creative and strategic tactics to achieve campaign goals
  • Present ideas in small groups for constructive feedback

You’ll leave with a clear, practical campaign action plan, whether you choose to join and expand the My Body My Rights campaign or build your own initiative from the ground up.

Networking (5:00–6:00pm)

Stay after the main sessions to connect with fellow activists, feminist organisers, and campaigners. Build relationships, exchange ideas, and strengthen our collective movement.
