Change the Record
Change the Record is Amnesty UK’s platform for music artists and the wider music industry who want to champion and protect human rights.
What is Change the Record?
As a global movement of over ten million people, Amnesty International is the world's largest grassroots human rights organisation.
We have a history of successful collaborations with artists including Coldplay, Joan Armatrading, Tracy Chapman, Deborah Frances-White, Young Fathers and Angelina Jolie.
Our ground-breaking Secret Policeman’s Ball used culture and entertainment to bring human rights into the mainstream and grow our movement.
But that movement is under threat, with increasing attacks on our hard-earned rights.
Music has always been more than entertainment. A lyric, a viral performance or a bold statement on stage can spark worldwide conversations and drive solidarity.
Artists have the incredible power connect to millions of people and can be the catalyst for making real change happen. We want you to change the record with us.
Change the Record, a project shortlisted for the Third Sector Awards’ Excellence Award for ‘Breakthrough of the Year’, empowers artists, partners and fans to spark meaningful conversation and support human rights in exciting and authentic ways.
“Amnesty has always represented the gold standard for human rights and decency around the globe.”
Annie Lennox
What we do
Bespoke events
We collaborate with artists to create powerful one-of-a-kind events and digital content, spotlighting human rights issues that matter to them.
Previous events have produced viral content (over 2M views) as well as a wide range of media coverage (BBC, NME, The Independent, Cosmopolitan).
Tour collaboration and merchandise
Artists can bring Amnesty on tour and raise vital funds to help support human rights work right here in the UK.
We’ve worked with artists on bespoke merchandise and on-stage messaging to transform their shows into powerful platforms for change.
Creative partnerships
We continue to build authentic partnerships within the music industry to raise awareness of Amnesty’s work.
