Sutton Amnesty at UAE Embassy Protest - 19 June 2023

On June 19th, Graham, Lyndon and John attended a protest at the UAE embassy and subsequently its consulate in London. A petition was handed in to support those imprisoned in the UAE including Sutton Amnesty's other Prisoner of Conscience Dr Mohamed Al-Roken. We were pleased to meet Sima Watling, Amnesty's researcher covering the UAE. Sima lives in our locality and we hope she may be able to attend and even speak to our group at some stage.

It is hoped 2023 offers an opportunity for some leverage on behalf of the 'UAE 94' group through the UAE hosting of COP 28 (30 November to 12 December).
