“Great News: Free to practise again”

In March we heard that our "Nominated Individual At Risk” , Ponciano Mbomio Nvo , for whom we have been advocating and actively supporting, over the last year, has had his licence to practise as a lawyer reinstated .

“EG JUSTICE ", an Equatorial Guinea Justice newsletter, announced in their February 19th edition that the 2 year suspension from legal practice, made in April 2012, had been lifted. This had been put in place when he was judged to have argued in court that the government in Equatorial Guinea was prosecuting his client for political reasons.

We are delighted that he is now free to carry out his work again and to stand up for freedom of speech and to fight against injustice in his country.
