Start an Amnesty student group

Students play a vital role in our work. Every new group makes a big difference for human rights by campaigning, fundraising, lobbying,  and raising awareness.

You’ll be joining a network of over 60 groups across the UK, made up of thousands of student activists whose commitment, creativity, enthusiasm and hard work are celebrated internationally.

What's in it for you?

We'll send you a pack of everything you need to set up your group, including resources, info, postcards, stickers and posters.

Once you are set up your group will receive:
  • A Freshers pack at the start of the academic year jam-packed full of posters, balloons, campaign materials and other goodies to help you make the most of your Freshers fair
  • Monthly campaign briefings
  • Invitations to the inspirational Amnesty Student Conference where you’ll meet Amnesty students from across the UK, learn more about human rights from international speakers and take part in a mass action
  • Activist training at our annual Action For Change student training event
  • Invitations to the Amnesty National Conference AGM, and the chance to take part in our democratic decisions.
  • The chance to vote (and get nominated) for the Student Action Network Committee, elected every year at Student Conference to lead the student network.
  • Other opportunities throughout the year such as invitations to the Amnesty/NUS Media Summit
