Human Rights Day 2018 in Sheffield

10th December 2018 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To mark this anniversary Amnesty International Sheffield is holding a number of special events:

On Saturday 8th December, Amnesty International Sheffield, University of Sheffield Amnesty International Society and Sheffield Hallam University Amnesty International Society are hosting a birthday party for the UDHR at Smorgas (401 Glossop Road, Sheffield, S10 2PR) from 1100 to 1500. We will be selling cakes, all profits going to support Amnesty International’s work to protect human rights.

On Human Rights Day itself (Monday 10th December) members of Amnesty International will be reading the UDHR aloud on the steps of the Town Hall on Monday 10th December from 1200 to 1245. We will also be distributing copies of the UDHR. Email us at amnestysheffield@gmail.com if you can help

Finally you can take action for human rights at the December meeting of Amnesty International Sheffield where we will be taking part in the Write for Rights campaign, sending messages of solidarity to human rights defenders and their families This will take place from 1900 to 2100 on Wednesday 12th December at the Central United Reformed Church 60 Norfolk St, Sheffield S1 2JB
