Are you interested in Amnesty International UK’s Section’s governance? We are looking for someone to fill an upcoming vacancy on our Members and Directors Appeals Committee (MDAC).
The MDAC consists of three members who are elected for a three-year term. The role of the Committee is to consider any appeals made by individuals or Directors who have been denied membership by virtue of serious misconduct or bringing AIUK into disrepute. They also hear appeals from individuals or Directors who have been expelled from the membership of Amnesty or from the Board. This is extremely rare but the Committee’s decision is final.
Ideally candidates should have experience of dealing with high-level disputes and disciplinary procedures, such as employment tribunals, and the ability to hear arguments from the Board and the applicant through a fair and open procedure.
We are looking for one member to take up a role on the Members and Directors Appeals Committee from 2020 – 2023.
We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Please contact Nominations Committee at email@example.com if you are interested in this role and we will contact you when the position becomes available.
We are Amnesty International UK. We work to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.
As a global movement of over 7 million people, Amnesty International is the world's largest grassroots human rights organisation.
We investigate and expose abuses, educate and mobilise the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world. We received the Nobel Peace Prize for our life-saving work.
