Are you interested in Amnesty International UK’s Section’s governance? In 2021 we will be looking to fill two vacancies on our Members and Directors Appeals Committee (MDAC).
The MDAC consists of three members who are elected for a three-year term. The role of the Committee is to consider any appeals made by individuals or Directors who have been denied membership by virtue of serious misconduct or bringing AIUK into disrepute. They also hear appeals from individuals or Directors who have been expelled from the membership of Amnesty or from the Board. This is extremely rare but the Committee’s decision is final.
Ideally candidates should have experience of dealing with high-level disputes and disciplinary procedures, such as employment tribunals, and the ability to hear arguments from the Board and the applicant through a fair and open procedure.
We are looking for two members to take up a role on the Members and Directors Appeals Committee from 2021 – 2024.
This is an annually elected role which candidates can apply for in the next year if not the current year due to the cyclical nature of the elections.
Applications for this role for 2020 are now closed. Please contact the Returning Officer at email@example.com if you are interested in this role and let us know if you are happy for us to contact you when the position becomes available.
Amnesty International UK values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
