Head of Safeguarding
Over the past 50 years Amnesty International has brought people together to fight for human rights. In the important role of Head of Safeguarding you will provide specialist advice to the organisation and lead on work for the organisation’s safeguarding framework.
About the role
This newly created role is a Fixed-Term Contract for 3 years and it will be part of the Leadership Team ensuring all decisions are considered through a safeguarding lens. The post holder will
- provide specialist advice to the organisation and lead the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies, policies and procedures to support the implementation of the organisation’s safeguarding framework.
- be organisational expert and will play a pivotal role in building and embedding a strong safeguarding culture across the organisation that sees safeguarding as ‘everyone’s responsibility’.
- will provide information, training and support on all safeguarding issues across the organisation.
You will have demonstrable senior level experience of working in safeguarding, able to think strategically and work collaboratively as part of a leadership team. You will have good knowledge of UK Safeguarding law and practice. Creative, with an ability to develop and implement innovative solutions and ideas to resolve issues. You will have extensive experience of developing, implementing and embedding high quality safeguarding policies, procedures and guidelines in a complex and diverse organisation.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and credibility to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels, as well as develop and maintain positive working relationships. You will be able to work under pressure and be willing to work flexible hours in the event of emergencies.
