Are you interested in Amnesty International UK’s Section’s governance? In 2021 we are looking for a Chairperson for our 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Conference.

The Chair is responsible for making sure that the business of the AGM is conducted in an efficient and orderly way. It’s the most important role at the AGM but they get lots of support from the Standing Orders Committee and our staff.

The Chair presides over the business of the AGM and Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) and is elected annually subject to a limit of three consecutive years. Experience of chairing large meetings is essential.

There is one AGM Chair role up for election in 2021. The successful candidate will then go on to Chair our 2022 AGM and National Conference.

This is an annually elected role which candidates can apply for in the next year if not the current year due to the cyclical nature of the elections.

Applications for this role are now open. Please download the combined role description and nomination form below. Return your completed nomination form to returningofficer@amnesty.org.uk by Friday 16th April 2021. Please contact the returning officer should you have any questions regarding your application.

Amnesty International UK values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
