September 2018 meeting
Our meeting is next Monday at 8pm. Steph is going to be talking to us about the human rights of LGBTI people, who are currently being abducted in Chechnya, arrested in Egypt, assaulted in El Salvador , persecuted in Azerbaijan… (that’s just from the top of my head). Come along to learn more and how to take action to protect everyone.
This is timely, as for the first time ever there will be a Pride in Woking next year, for the whole of Surrey.
You will probably have heard of the recent release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe for a couple of days from prison in Iran. Sadly she has been re-imprisoned and has been hospitalised after collapsing. Please take a moment to sign Amnesty’s demand for her release: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/actions/help-get-nazanin-zaghari-ratcliffe-home?from=issue
Finally it’s our music gig on Thursday 6th. Tickets are 70% sold (hurrah), but it would be great if we could sell them all. Please encourage all your friends to come, tickets are available here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/amnesty-night-of-live-music-tickets-47237466534
