Monday evening's meeting chaired by Keith Scott was one of our most successful to date with at least 19 participants and attended by a number of representatives from our Woking Mosque including 'Imam' Hashmi and Mrs Kawther Hashmi. Cherry Bird was brilliant and informative on the Human Rights situation in India and Kashmir and we have signed up to regular updates and future actions from the Amnesty S,Asia newsletter. Adam has uploaded an audio file of the talk to our Woking Amnesty website for anyone to hear and we'll keep it there until the end of July.
July monthly Amnesty meeting . In July we are meeting on the second Monday of the month the 12th July 7.30pm because we are joining Guildford group as their guests. Marilyn, Chair of Guildford will be inviting a speaker on SYRIA and the Levant.
Accounts . Thank you to Jim and Lynda for maintaining and recently updating our accounts. Amnesty Woking bank balance is £209.61. It costs us around £150 p.a. to maintain our status as an Amnesty group so we must organise at least one major fundraising event in the course of the next 8-10 months. It's not fair to load this task onto one or two people, we must all play a significant role so please let me have your ideas.
