June meeting

Please do remember our meeting tomorrow at 8pm.  We’ll be working on the refugee campaign, I Welcome.  You can find some interesting myth busting here: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/truth-about-refugees

It’s important to acknowledge that what terrorists want is to create such an atmosphere of fear that we turn against each other.  Asylum seekers are running away from violence much worse than those in London. We need to keep working to get out our message of welcome and generosity.

A date for your diary is a skills share event on Saturday 14th October in Kent: A fantastic day for members and supporters to share and develop skills on campaigning, fundraising, lobbying and much more. We'll have a particular focus on work with refugees and asylum seekers.

Meanwhile, please take a moment to sign a petition on behalf of people caught up in a chemical attack in Syria: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/actions/demand-justice-victims-syria-idlib-chemical-gas-attack
