Southend group September newsletter
Here's our current Group Newsletter with a summary of the meeting on 9th September and links to recent letter-writing activities.
Please find a few minutes to write on behalf of Hakamada, a death row inmate for 45 years; Claudia, a victim of torture; and on behalf of women's rights in Aghanistan. The draft letters to which these links will take you contain a summary of the background of each campaign or more info can be found on the AI UK website.
The next Group Meeting is on Thursday 9th October 7:30pm at Avenue Baptist Church, Milton Road, Westcliff-on-Sea SS0 9JX. Our letter-writing will include the Stop Torture Campaign and the case of four Burmese imprisoned following a peaceful protest.
Finally, if you're in Southend during the week of 20th - 25th October, call in at The Forum in Elmer Square where there will be a display of posters and leaflets relating to Amnesty's work.
