IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Kingdom of Bahrain usually in the news in association with the glamorous annual F1 race, is ruled by a fabulously rich monarchy driven dictatorship, where the interests of the overwhelming majority of ordinary citizens are ignored. The Bahrain government brutally controls any dissent amongst these citizens by a plethora of Human Rights violating measures, including incarceration without proper basis or trial, kidnapping and torture.

On the 14 th July the Southend Amnesty group will host a visit by a group of Bahraini Human Rights activists that have had to flee their homeland as a result of persecution. They will share their experiences and will answer questions about their country, the political system and the need for Human Rights activists everywhere to maintain pressure on the leaders of despotic regimes.

This is a public meeting open to anyone and is held at 7.30pm, Thursday 14th July at The Balmoral Centre, Salisbury Avenue, Westcliff on Sea, SS0 7AU
