Solihull Group's 4th Amnestea held on on July 31st
The Solihull Amnesty Group’s 4th AMNESTEA took place on Sunday 31st July.
The tea party, which is held in a lovely garden in Olton, has now become a popular event. We provided a large selection of homemade cakes and also some savoury snacks.
Information about the group’s activities was displayed and we collected signatures on two petitions: one to be sent to Solihull Council asking them to take measures to counter hate crime and the second to our Prime Minister asking her to take a lead in delivering a humane and effective response to the global refugee crisis.
Visitors could also play croquet and there were garden games for children. Over fifty people came to the Amnestea this year and we raised a total of £498, all of which will be used for Amnesty’s work, an excellent result.
