Nottingham Write for Rights
November is the start of the annual Amnesty Write for Rights campaign - where we send solidarity cards to campaigners and people whose human rights are at risk. https://www.amnesty.org.uk/issues/write-rights-2019
This year we'll be at Nottingham Central Library, Angel Row on Saturday 9 November 11am-1pm with a table in the first floor exhibition space.
Come along on the day to sign cards supporting Migrant women experiencing domestic abuse in the UK, and Yiliyasijiang Reheman.
Write for Rights has a printed booklet with 12 cases you can print at home, or order for free. Some members get a few copies, some blank greetings cards and some pens, and invite friends for mince pies and card signing. There's a youth and child focus this year, including cases of young climate change and environment activists.
Our monthly drop-in letter writing is Monday 11 November, 5:30-7pm at the Mezz bar, 1st floor at Broadway. Lift access available, we'll be at the tables in the back room of the Mezz.
We'll focus on the letters as well as the solidarity cards featured in Write for Rights.
And our November monthly meeting is Tuesday 26 November, 7:30pm at the Dice Cup 68-70 Mansfield Road.
All welcome :)
