Come and become part of of Amnesty International--a leading international human rights campaign which majors on engaging and empowering ordinary citizens.  AI has 280 local groups across the UK, with many more in schools and colleges.  We would like invite you to our launch event for the Milton Keynes group.    Responding to AI's new campaign on refugee and asylum-seeker rights, we have several speakers and short films from 7 to 8.30.  Speakers include Heather Jones, co-ordinator of befrienders at the controversial Yarl's Wood Immigration Detention Centre, near Bedford, and Father Ernesto Lozada-Uzuriaga, lead minister at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone, MK.  The evening will have a strong social and networking flavour, with music and a free buffet from 6 until 7.
