2. Stop Torture Skill Share
The Stop Torture Skill Share at HRAC on Saturday 4th October 2014 will offer attendees the opportunity to find out more about the campaign, hear from experts on the issues, share ideas and put them into practice with some creative campaigning.

2. Previous group activities
Blackheath and Greenwich’s 21 June book sale was visited by a camera crew from AIUK and a video of the event is now available. They have also been holding regular letter writing events.
Hornsey and Wood Green’s summer concert raised £845 with comedian Shazia Mirza and country coordinator for Algeria and Libya Hugh Sandeman.
Kingston had their regular coffee and letter-writing event at All Saints Church on 2 August.
Mayfair and Soho have held a series of nine very popular fundraising walks in association with Footprints.
3. Upcoming group activities
Blackheath and Greenwich will have more letter writing sessions as well as their second book sale on 22 November.
Hampstead and Belsize will be holding a Palestinian film night in the near future.
Islington and Hackney will hold a local sponsored walk on Saturday 20 September.
Kingston are hosting a discussion with Gary Ettle, country coordinator for Israel and the OPT from 8pm on Thursday 18 September at New Malden Methodist Church, 49 High Street, New Malden KT3 4BY.
Richmond and Twickenham will be joined by country coordinator for China Andy Moody, who will be giving a presentation on Amnesty’s work in the region, from 8pm on Thursday 11 September at St Mary’s Church Hall, Twickenham TW1 3NJ.
Tower Hamlets’ Quiz Night will be from 6:30pm (for 7pm) on 14 September at the Water Poet pub, 9 Folgate Street, Spitalfields E1 6BX. Book online via this link.
Wandsworth’s Embassy Crawl will be on 25th October from 10:45am at Embankment station. Planned embassy route: Nigeria, Philippines, Mexico, Indonesia, Bahrain, Lunch break in Hyde Park, Ethiopia, Iraq, Morocco.
Westminster and Bayswater are helping to organise a concert with Druze violist Omar Sa’ad and the Galillee Quartet at HRAC on 8 October from 18:30. Tickets are free, but please book online.
Rich Mix cinema will be showing Miners Shot Down plus Q&A with director Rehad Desai.
4. London Region Summer Picnic
Despite near-monsoon conditions, those of us who attended agreed the summer picnic on Saturday 10 August was a great success and we hope to hold one again next year.
5. Street Collection
A final reminder about the annual Londonwide Street Collection on Saturday 11 October, registration for which ends on Saturday 20 September.
