Stand Up Women 2014 - Saturday 8th March
Grab your belly laughing muscles, a bunch of mates and a couple of beers because we, your friendly South London Amnesty International Groups, are hosting our annual comedy night, Stand Up Women.
We’re returning to The Bedford, Balham, on Saturday, March 8th 2014 for what promises to be another fantastic sold out show. Come and join us in protecting the human with humour!
Some of the brightest women on the stand-up circuit are coming to help shake off those winter blues and raise money and awareness for women’s rights this International Women’s Day. From up-and-coming London talent to familiar faces you’ll recognise from your television, we’ve got it covered. Even better, it will cost only £10 plus booking fee.
On our bill so far we have:
Sara Pascoe, who’s been taking the TV world by storm. You may have seen her on Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Live at the Apollo or Campus (to name but a small handful…)
Lara A King, Funny Women Award Winner who’s loved by critics. Broadway Baby described her as “very funny… a real gem” whilst Chortle thinks she’s “impressive!”
Jo Romero, a seasoned comic on the UK circuit who’s been making them laugh from the Edinburgh Fringe to Leicester Square Theatre.
Emily Lloyd-Saini, who’s winning them over at the Dogstar in Brixton every month. She’s just been at the Edinburgh Fringe where Broadway Baby gave her 4 stars.
New on the scene but causing some big waves, Charley Harrison has only been performing since March 2013, but in that time she’s managed to impress the comedy world so much that she’s performed alongside Josie Long and Robin Ince. She’s also performed in Edinburgh with Stand Up Tragedy.
So, come and join us in showcasing the creativity and talent of women whilst standing with those who need our help.
Grab some tickets for you and your mates now and stand up for something whilst sitting down.
