Nunhead Cemetery report
On Saturday 19th May the Lambeth Amnesty group spent the day at Nunhead Cemetery Open Day. We asked the public to sign letters to the Embassy of Sudan about Noura Hussein (who has been sentenced to death in Sudan for killing her rapist husband in self-defence) and thank you letters to local MPs who supported the Refugee Family Unification Bill reading in March. We also gave out a lot of Refugees Welcome badges (well done to the group member who got the morris dancers to wear one!) and highlighted the case of Aster Fissehatsion in Eritrea. Thanks to everyone that volunteered on the stall and spoke to so many members of the public.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 19th June at 7.30pm.
