Fundraising training - Thurs 11th Oct 7pm
This year there are two new initiatives to make the street collection even more enjoyable and successful than in previous years.
First, a free training session on confident and effective training from Amnesty member Shan Rees who says:
“Do you find it challenging to collect money for Amnesty on the streets and sometimes wonder what to say? If so, come along to this short training course, where you will learn how to put yourself across confidently and effectively in this situation; some ideas of what to say; and how to align yourself with the over-all aim, so that you collect lots of money for Amnesty!”
Shan Rees is a very experienced trainer in Personal and Professional Development Skills and a Life Coach. She runs course on Confidence-Building and Assertion Skills: “How to sound your note in the World” and has published a book 'Assertion Training: How to be who you really are’.
The training session will take place on Thursday 11th October at 7pm-9pm at the Human Rights Action Centre, 17-25 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA. Contact Ros Davidson, London region rep, to register, on firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited so best to apply early.
Second, there is a Facebook page for the street collection event. Go to
https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/102582246562828/?context=create, logging in to Facebook as necessary, or within Facebook search for ‘London-wide street collection’ and click to say that you’re attending the event. Then you can post hints for successful collection techniques or ask questions about how to enjoy supporting Amnesty by collecting.
