Hayes Carnival - July 2014

The Amnesty International Hillingdon Group had a stall at the Hayes Carnival on 12 July this year, led by group member Les.

Carolyn provided valuable help in setting up the gazebo, the joints having a mind of their own, demonstrating a refusal to remain connected. The arrival of Lucy was a boon and her undoubted skills at organizing and controlling the card tombola as well as attracting the kids enabled us to collect over £30. Janet's scrumptious cakes were all sold on this very hot, busy and pleasant day, which was helped by a small stage nearby with varied taste of enjoyable music.

Carnival attendees were eager to sign our Stop Torture cards after reading materials displayed on the stall or being told about the details of the cases by Amnesty members.
