June Meeting Notes

At our meeting today we discussed the situation in West Papua and wrote in support of Filep Karma, long-time political prisoner, whose family also now appears to be the target of attacks. Please keep him in your thoughts.

We also heard an update on the Miami Five - if you want to know who supports terrorist networks and incarcerates those who expose it, read on. We are all urged to sign the petition to Tanzanian President, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, who has influence on the conduct of the forthcoming Zimbabwean election as Chair of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). And we are turning our attention to Sri Lanka ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, in particular concerned about the disappearance of Prageeth Eknaligoda.
