Philippines Human Rights Spotlight Talk January 2020
You may have seen on the news over Christmas that the Philippines has been battered by a a serious typhoon. More than 28 people have been killed, thousands of homes have been destroyed and large parts of the country have been flooded. However, this is not the only cause of suffering in the Philippines.
Huw Jones, Amnesty international UK’s expert on the Philippines, will be examining abuses of human rights in that country in a talk to Hammersmith Amnesty Group on Thursday January 16th at 7.30pm.
The venue is Hammersmith Quaker Meeting House, 20 Nigel Playfair Avenue, W6 9JY. The event is free and open to anyone, not just Amnesty members.
