Kate Allen to meet Amnesty Members in Southampton
Kate Allen, the Director of Amnesty International UK, is coming to Southampton to meet with Amnesty members in the Southern Region.
The meeting is taking place in:
The Focus Room
Avenue St Andrew’s URC
The Avenue (at the junction of the Avenue and Alma Road)
To reach the Focus room you should enter the Church Annexe from the door to the right of the main door on The Avenue. For more information see the "find us" page on the Church's web-site: http://asa.urc.org.uk/?page_id=34
Tea and coffee will be available from 6.30pm and the meeting will start at 6.55pm so that there is as much time as possible available for discussion with Kate. If you wish to come to the meeting but cannot get there at the start, you will be welcome but please enter the room as quietly as possible.
This is an easy venue to find from the motorways if you are coming by car. Parking on most of the side streets should be OK after 6pm but please double check before you leave your car in case the local authority have changed the rules. It is about 2 miles from Southampton Central station.
Kate does not wish to limit in any way your right to ask whatever questions you wish to ask but this meeting is being held in the context of the need for AI UK to agree at the AGM in April the way in which it should resolve the issues raised by the EGM and how the organisation is to structure itself in the future. So there are two main aims at the meeting:
- for members to be able to raise any points which they would find it helpful to have resolved prior to the AGM
- for members to be able to offer any thoughts or suggestions as to how, on a practical basis, they would have preferred the Board and management team to have dealt with the issues that have arisen so that any future issues can be resolved in a way more acceptable to members..
