Another busy year!

Our January meeting included our AGM and reflection on our activities during 2016, before moving on to plan our 2017 programme.

Past and future meetings programmes include letter and card writing alongside opportunities to learn about human rights issues from speakers and trainers.  We try to publicise the work of Amnesty International, and to raise money for this, through street collections, stalls at various public events and occasional special events such as  film screenings.  In 2016 we raised almost £2,000.  Our thanks go to everyone who contributed in any way.

Election of Officers

We agreed to continue our practice of rotating the role of Chair.  Rob Brown and Malcolm Storry have taken on the roles of Secretary and Treasurer respectively.  Kaye Freeman will continue as our Press Officer with the help of Barbara Walters who is also sharing the role of Minutes Secretary with Heather Leonard.  Kate Ward continues to manage this blog.  Particular thanks go to John Dunleavy who has stepped down from being our Treasurer after many years of valued service.

Our next meeting will be held in Chipping Norton's Lower Town Hall on Thursday, 9th February, starting at 7:30 p.m.  Our main business will be further planning of our 2107 meetings programme and preparation for our first meeting with our MP, Robert Courts, which we hope will take place towards the end of February.  Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of our meetings.  If you would like to find out more, ring Priscilla Peace on 01451 830459.
