World Day Against the Death Penalty - lecture in Ely Cathedral

From the chair of the Ely Amnesty group: "Our 4th annual lecture in Ely Cathedral last night was a moving and inspirational event. Peter Pringle and Sunny Jacobs spoke to an audience of about 120 people about their unjust convictions, years on death row, their fight for justice, how they used yoga, meditation and prayer to ease the pain of their confinement, and how they have found it in their hearts to forgive those who contributed to their wrongful arrests and convictions. Now married to one another after meeting at an Amnesty event campaigning against the death penalty, they travel the world telling their stories in the hope that the death penalty will one day be abolished in every country of the world. For more details on this remarkable couple see their website "

Original Post:

7:30pm tonight: at Ely Cathedral, in honour of today's world status, Ely Local Group has arranged for thier annual lecture to be given by a couple from opposite sides of the Atlantic who met as a result of having been wrongly condemned to death and (after many years) subsequently exonerated. Their life stories promise to be fascinating.
