International Women's Day falls on 8 March and to celebrate this, Emma Symonds will tell us about her work with CBM UK empowering women with disabilities. CBM is an NGO working with the poorest communities in Africa and Asia to transform the lives of people with disabilities. She leads projects on health and livelihoods in Bangladesh and Kenya. She also acts as the gender focal point, providing gender related input into the CBM programmes team. Prior to this, she has worked in Afghanistan on girls’ education, and in the South Caucasus on peace-building programmes.

Emma will also include a few snapshots of projects with a particular focus on empowerment of women and girls with disabilities.
