Invitation to the first Cambridge Amnesty Social/Fundraising dinner - hope you can come on 21 May (and other diary dates)
Here's an invitation to the first Cambridge Amnesty Social/Fundraising dinner - hope you can come on 21 May, Wednesday at 7.30pm. You are most welcome to bring along a friend or more, and we specially welcome people who don't make it to the group meetings but would like to be part of the Amnesty activities locally.
Tulip is a friendly restaurant, run by a Kurdish family, serving traditional Anatolian food - plenty of choice for vegetarians and carnivores alike.
They are charging us £12.50 per head (this covers three courses, but not drinks) and I propose charging £15 per head with £2.50 per person to go towards fundraising - anyone unemployed, a student or otherwise a bit skint (I won't be demanding proof so just decide for yourself) can simply pay the £12.50. We'll have jugs of water on the table so if you don't fancy buying drinks you won't need to, although I love their Ayran (yoghurt drink). It is just possible the £12.50 will come down slightly if we get high numbers booking so do drag some mates along : )
I'll need firm bookings by Monday 12 May so please get back to me (E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) by then if you would like to come. We're also inviting the student groups and the Amnesty Bookshop volunteers so there should be plenty of new people to get to know.
Hope to see you there!
Here you can also find the details of the other events of the Cambridge City Group in May, including letterwriting on 5th and 13th May, Group AGM on 8th May and market stall on the 17th May.
