August Events: 6th August Social/Fundraising Dinner & 16th August Market Stall

Hi everyone

I'm organising another Cambridge City Amnesty Social/Fundraising Dinner at Tulip Restaurant on Mill Road (Anatolian food which everyone seemed to really like it and I haven't had time to scout out another place yet). I know it's the summer holidays and many people may be away, but there are some of us around and it would be nice to meet up. Bring along a friend! We specially welcome people who don't make it for meetings, and promise we won't talk about torture, the death penalty or forced evictions all night...

7.30pm, Wednesday 6th August
It's £15 per head, which covers a mixed meze starter, a mean meal from a selection from the main menu, and a tea. A portion of baclava is an extra £1. The £15 covers a £2.50 donation, which I'm happy to waive (also happy to accept extra!) and cash on the night is fine. I've requested an outdoor table in their rear garden if the weather is good, but some may like to sit indoors as there is no alcohol served for consumption outside due to licensing restrictions.

And their own site with menu is here: http://www.tuliprestaurant.co.uk/

I've booked for 10 people, but more are very welcome and I can change the numbers closer to the time. Please let me know by 4th August if you are able to come so that I can give exact numbers.

On a different note, on Saturday 16th August we will hold our monthly campaign and fundraising stall in Market Square. Do come and say hello, sign petitions and buy second hand books.  All other market stall dates are below.

Cheers for now, and hope to see you at the fundraising dinner!
