Voices for Change song competition finalists
The preliminary judging panel had their work cut out deciding which four acts should go through to the finalsof the protest song writing competition for Borders school children.
All of the entries were written to a very high standard, and covered a wide range of themes and musical styles.
The live finals will take place at the String Jam Club in Selkirk on Saturday 7th June, and the judging panel will be headed by world famous protest song writer and performer, Julie Felix, who will also be performing at the concert.
The acts going through to the finals are Corin Anderson and Leanne McFadden from Hawick; Erin Highton from Selkirk; Highrise (Tom Beards, James Carvalho, Jonny Paterson and Cameron Young Lee) from Peebles; and Unheard Voices (Lauren Batey, Aaron Lee, Cameron Rendall Reid and Joe Bispham) from Kelso.
The winning act will take home the first prize of £500, with the runners-up receiving £100.
