Protest Song Writing Competition

Borders Amnesty, in conjunction with The String Jam Club, is running a protest song-writing competition for 11-18 year olds living in the Scottish Borders to highlight the influence that protest songs can have and to encourage interest in the work of Amnesty International.

Competition rules and posters have been circulated to schools and youth groups in the region and entries are now invited.

Your song can be about "anything that matters to you".  Entries must be submitted by 31st January 2014 and songs need to be uploaded to YouTube by 14th March 2014.

The finalists will  perform their songs live at The String Jam Club in Selkirk in June.  The evening will be headlined by iconic protest singer/songwriter Julie Felix, who will join the final judging panel.
