AIUK Briefing for 2nd April 2014 Demo in front of Indonesian Embassy
Amnesty International UK have issued a briefing for the Demonstration to be held with our colleagues from TAPOL, on 2nd April 2014, in front of the Indonesian Embassy, 38 Grosvenor Square, London - the document can be downloaded herewith. We have long fought for a fair hearing for the Amnesty supported Prisoners of Conscience held by the Indonesian Government - these prisoners having done nothing more than peacefully asked for Freedom of Expression on the matter of the seizure of what is now called Papua Province in Indonesia. The indigenous people of, what they call, West Papua have suffered severe Human Rights abuses since the Indonesians took control of their country over fifty years ago - AIUK recognise that at least 100,000 indigenous people have been killed, although the actual figure is likely to be nearer 500,000!
