HELP STOP THE KILLING OF LGBTI PEOPLE IN CHECHNYA

The lives of LGBTI people in Chechnya are under threat. Two people have been tortured to death in a new wave of attacks by the Chechen authorities. Around 40 people have been abducted since last December. Tortured. Passports destroyed. Simply because of their alleged sexuality.

Nobody should be attacked because of who they are. Yet, the violence is escalating.

In the last two years, over 140 people suspected of being LGBTI have been viciously assaulted by the Chechen authorities. Now more lives are at risk. It’s up to us to speak out.

Will you join the fight to help end these atrocities?

Your support could help protect the lives of LGBTI people in Chechnya and around the world.

      Why donate to Amnesty International?

At Amnesty, we stand up for the rights of the LGBTI community, wherever and whenever they are under threat. Our work relies on the generosity of people like you to fund our urgent campaigning work to hold the Chechen authorities to account for these horrific crimes.

With your support, our researchers can gather, analyse and expose evidence of human rights abuses in places like Chechnya. Armed with that evidence we can pressure governments and create long term change. In 2018 alone, we helped to pass 41 laws around the world that strengthened human rights, including the rights of LGBTI people.

Become part of our movement of over 7 million people from around the world standing up for human rights.

People power works. Our movement has helped change hundreds of laws. It's secured the release of thousands of people who have been unjustly imprisoned, and protected the rights of millions of people around the world.
