Everyone is welcome to this free, one-day conference to find out about what Amnesty does and how you can support human rights in your community.

We'll meet at 10.30am at the Friends' Meeting House in Scarborough, where we'll discuss a range of current human rights issues around the globe, and how we can make an impact from our communities - finishing up at 4pm.

The Conference is free and there will be hot and cold drinks available but please bring your own lunch.

10.30am: Registration, coffee and tea etc.

11.00 - 11.15am: Welcome and introduction - Rod Heath, Amnesty's Regional Representative for Yorkshire and North East England

11.20am - 12.20pm: Workshops on Japan and Asia, and children's human rights - led by Rhiannon Griffiths, Voluntary Country Co-ordinator for Amnesty's work on Japan and East Asia, and representatives from Amnesty's Children's Human Rights Network.

12.30pm: Fundraising for human rights in your community - Richard Glynn, Amnesty UK Community Fundraising Coordinator

1pm - 2pm: Lunch - not provided, please bring your own

2pm: Creative campaign to support human rights defenders around the world

2.30 - 3.20pm: 'The Australian model' - Rod Heath. Discussion in sub-regional groups on this, and on the Women's Suffrage and UDHR anniversaries.

3.30 - 4pm: Human rights in Egypt - Perihan Cousins
