Vladimir Putin has held power in Russia since 1999, presiding over increasing abuses of human rights: Refugees have been denied their basic rights; some forms of domestic violence have been decriminalised; LGBTI people continue to face discrimination and violence, and those who speak out about these abuses face harassment and violence. Today’s writings come from journalists and activists bravely exposing Putin’s monopoly on power. Chaired by Peter Geoghegan.
