Sergei Nikitin, former Director of Amnesty International's representative office in Russia, will speak on the human rights situation in Russia now, the impact of Amnesty's work and what the future may hold for human rights in Russia and the region. Sergei worked for Amnesty in Moscow for 14 years and will talk about his experience of being a human rights defender in Russia as well as the shrinking space for human rights in Russia, former Soviet Union countries and elsewhere. Sergei worked at Friends House, Moscow, (A Quaker Charity) from 1999 - 2002.
