About this group

Welcome to Fylde Coast Amnesty Group. We are a friendly group who get together regularly to write letters and plan local activities, based on campaigns led by Amnesty International UK. We would love you to come and join us. 

We usually meet at the World Healing Centre, 476 Lytham Rd, Blackpool FY4 1JF at 7.30 on the first Monday of every month.  The date and time may vary if we have a speaker, so please check the details with us if you are planning to come for the first time.

Every year Amnesty International UK invite us to select which countries and campaigns we would like to focus on as a group. We discuss and vote on this. We have recently joined in Amnesty's Global campaigns: Stop torture, I Welcome (refugees) and Human Rights Defenders 

We also hold events to raise funds for Amnesty International UK and to raise awareness of  the work of Amnesty International. One of our group members is a School Speaker and is also the North West Coordinator for School Speakers.  Our treasurer Julie Bullough is also the North West Regional secretary
