Celebrate 64 years of Legal Aid - London
Date: Tue 30 July 2013
Join the Justice Alliance campaign to celebrate Legal Aid on its 64th Birthday and to fight against Government cuts to free advice.
The government plans to cut Legal Aid will mean:
- The crushing of small Legal Aid centred firms
- Cutting back funding for criminal defence
- Stopping challenges to unlawful behaviour of the state
- Removing advice that helps prisoners rehabilitate
- A discriminatory residence test, denying justice to asylum seekers and victims of trafficking
Legal aid is a last defence – it’s time to celebrate and protect it!
Guests include:

- Sadiq Khan MP
- Raphael Rowe (M25 Three)
- Ian Lawrence (NAPO)
