Outside the Law: stories from Guantanamo

Close Guantanamo protest in Belfast

Date: Tue 16 February 2010

Sorry, this event is now fully booked.

Moazzam Begg is no longer able to attend this event as a speaker.

Please join us for this screening of Outside the Law: Stories from Guantánamo, a documentary focussing on the stories of three detainees, one of whom remains in prison. The screening is followed by a discussion with filmmaker Andy Worthington and former Guantánamo detainees Moazzam Begg and Omar Deghayes, who were both returned without charge.

A year on from President Obama's pledge to close down Guantánamo, the infamous prison still holds over 200 prisoners, most of whom can not be tried due to lack of evidence. This fascinating documentary follows the story of  three detainees: Binyam Mohamed and Omar Deghayes, who have both been released, and Shaker Aamer who is still held.

Outside the Law: Stories from Guantánamo. Produced by Spectacle Productions 2009. Directed by Polly Nash and Andy Worthington
