11/06/08 - Pailsey Group Folk Concert.
The Paisley branch of Amnesty will be holding a folk concert in the Paisley arsts centre on Wednesday the 11th of June. Ticked are reasonably priced and are avaliable at the door. Contact Paisley Arts centre for more information. .

2008 Flag days.
Over the course of the next few months we will be partaking in our annual flag days. Date's and locations have still to be formalised however as soon as they are the details will be posted here.

Simon Barrow & Dumbarton Football Club
Regular Son's program columnist Simon Barrow recently celebrated his 50th birthday. As part of the festivatives Simon sponsered the Dumbarton vs Stranaer match on the 29th of April. Simon had a full page dedicated to him in the match day program part of which he used to promote the local Dumbarton and Lomdon Amnesty group. Tim Rhead our group chairpreson was invited to attend the game by Simon.
The group would like to take this oppertunity to thank Simon for his very kind gesture.
Simon can be seen second from the right.
N.B Dumbarton lost the game 1-0.

2008 Amnesty Greetings Card Campaign.
Dumbarton and Lomond Amnesty would like to thank everyone who contributed to our 2008 Amnesty greetings card campaign. Over 230 cards were signed during the course of the campaign.

2008 Human Rights For China
When China made its bid for the 2008 Olympics, government authorities promised improvements in human rights. Seven years on, China remains a country that executes, tortures and silences its citizens.
The deadline is looming.
Amnesty International is urging the Chinese authorities to step up their human rights reforms and uphold the legacy of the Olympic Games.
