Training for local groups
Our active learning programme aims to enable activists to share and gain knowledge, skills and enthusiasm. Our network of 60 trainers across the UK supports local groups to become more creative and effective in their campaigning and fundraising activities.
Inviting a trainer to facilitate a participative session can be a lively and enjoyable way to find out more about our key campaigns and how you can take action effectively. Our trainers are all experienced, active Amnesty members and understand Amnesty local groups. They facilitate a wide variety of workshops. Some develop general campaigning skills, such as letter writing, getting in your local media and lobbying your MP. Others, like our Demand Dignity workshops, help to prepare groups to get involved in our campaigns. A full list of current workshops is available here.
All workshops last between 60 - 90 minutes. You can negotiate exact content with your trainer, who will adapt and tailor the information to suit the needs of your group. Trainers deliver workshops at group meetings and regional events, including regional conferences. All workshops are FREE.
