Open to print, online or broadcast entries from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English regions, this category recognises excellent local reporting of global human rights stories as well as those from closer to home.

Entry Guidelines Television
- A TV news item of less than 20 minutes duration, or up to three news items, if part of a series
- A single TV programme of up to 60 minutes duration
- If entering more than once, you must complete one form per entry
- You must answer the three synopsis questions on the entry form
- Please do not send further supplementary material or information as this will not be considered
- If you have problems completing the form please call 020 7033 1544
As well as completing the form, please post the following to 17-25 New Inn Yard, London, EC2A 3EA:
- One copy of each entry on digibeta without burnt-in timecode (BITC)
- Two copies of each entry on DVD with a burnt-in timecode. Label each entry clearly and print the duration and transmission date of the programme on each DVD
- Please supply your broadcast submission in 16:9 ratio

- Full title of entry
- Date of broadcast
- Background information on the entry including: How the idea for the
piece came about, what challenges were encountered in producing the
piece, how it helped to further the understanding of the issues covered,
what impact it had (i.e. number of viewers/listeners and their
response, government reaction, policy change, etc)
- Name of channel or broadcast company
- Name of production company
- Producer
- Director
- Editor
- Reporter/presenter
- Name of other contributors who should be credited (e.g. researcher)
- Length of programme
- URLs for online entries
- Credit or debit card details
- High res copies of the logos of the production company and broadcaster (if appropriate)

Entry Guidelines Radio
- A radio news item, programme, podcast, or a series of up to 120 minutes total duration

- Eight printed full colour copies of each article with details of the date published
- A CD including pdf files of the article
