AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL UK STUDENT AGM SUNDAY 2 NOVEMBER 11:15 -12:30

The AGM is a chance to:
- Hear what other groups are doing
- Vote on the motions that have been submitted
- Run for a place on the next Student Action Network (STAN) Committee
- Vote in the STAN Committee Elections
If your group would like to feed back to the rest of Conference about your activities over the past year, please chose someone to speak and get them to prepare a one minute speech.
Submitting a motion | Running for election | Any questions? Contact us
The deadline for submitting a motion for discussion at the student AGM this year is Thursday 24 October.
Please note: motions can only be debated at student conference if they fulfil certain criteria. Essentially, student conference motions can mandate the STAN committee to take a particular course of action. However, in the case of Amnesty student groups, other governance structures and staff members, the motion can only request that they consider taking a course of action.
E.g. Student conference can mandate the STAN committee to travel by train rather than aeroplane within mainland Britain. However conference cannot ban Board members or staff members from travelling by aeroplane within mainland Britain - it can only encourage them not to fly.
