Why Amnesty?
We are a leading provider of human rights education resources and training and support schools across the UK. We offer a wide range of resources including support for Amnesty youth groups, teaching materials, Continuing Professional Development training and work with Initial Teacher Education providers. We can provide training days, half days or short, targeted sessions, either on our own, or with a selection of partner organisations.
Amnesty trainers are all former teachers whose sessions emphasise practical teaching and learning ideas and methods that improve the classroom practice of teachers who attend.
We have an outstanding track record in teacher training. On average :
- 98% of delegates consider their training experience with Amnesty 'very useful' or 'useful'
- 97% of delegates state that they are 'extremely likely' or 'likely' to use modelled activities and resources in their teaching
- 96% of delegates feel that training is appropriate to their needs

'Stunningly good - the best CPD I have ever had." |
|
'By far the most useful CPD course I have attended - excellent use of resources, fantastic range of activities, all directly linked to work teachers do every day. If only more CPD could be so relevant." |
ITE work
We work with UNICEF UK to support the development of Rights Respecting Initial Teacher Education programmes at London Metropolitan University (Secondary PGCE) and Winchester University (Primary BA in Education and Primary PGCE). For more information contact us.

'There is a benefit to sending out trained teachers who have a strong idea and a strong identity about what their position is in the classroom and in the school. If you give people a strong identity which includes their responsibility to promote a rights respecting classroom it's an advantage for them because it's an added layer of what you are as a teacher.' |
